India wants to know when will its daughters get justice: Rahul Gandhi

Apart from Gandhi, his sister Priyanka Vadra along with husband Robert, too, were present apart from senior party leaders Ghulam Nabi, Kapil Sibal, Shobha Oza, Ambika Soni, Salman Khursheed, Kumari Selja, Sushmita Dev, Randeep Surjewala. "We are standing here against that and we want the government to act", he said.

"When we talk about Unnao and Kathua rape cases, you could straight away see the politics in it". This is a national issue and not a political one. "The person, the party and the government that look at rape through the prism of class and religion have to be criticised", he said. Priyanka Gandhi was heard telling the crowd to respect the cause for which they gathered at the India Gate.

Maken's tweet came in the wake of Congress President Rahul Gandhi's Thursday midnight protest by the party workers at the India Gate here against the "slumber" of Narendra Modi government over the rape incidents. He said Modi's slogan of "Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao" was a correct slogan.

BJP spokesperson Vaibhav Aggarwal, while he was speaking, dismissed the Congress party's midnight protest and called it a "fashion walk". BJP's Vaibhav Aggarwal said "people in the march are clicking selfies".

Apart from scores of Congress workers, there were also students, people from civil society groups, professionals and mediapersons in the march.
