Eagles CB Worley arrested, police use Taser

Officers used a taser on Worley after becoming "combative with police", according to NFL Network.

The Eagles confirmed the arrest happened and said they are in the process of gathering more information.

The 23-year-old Worley is a Philly native who spent the first two seasons of his National Football League career with the Carolina Panthers after they selected him in the third round of the 2016 National Football League draft out of West Virginia.

Rapoport added that 911 was called to the scene because Worley was found passed out inside a vehicle blocking the highway.

Worley, 23, starred at Penn Charter High and at the University of West Virginia before being drafted in the third round by the Carolina Panthers in 2016. Worley was also reportedly found with a gun. Per Garofolo, the incident occurred near the Eagles' team facility.

He played in 15 games with 14 starts for the Panthers last season.

Les Bowen, who covers the Philadelphia Eagles for the Philadelphia Daily News and The Philadelphia Inquirer, reported that he believes the Eagles are now in position to release Worley, who has two years remaining on his contract.
