Brooke Henderson breezes to four-stroke win at Lotte Championship

"Watching Pernilla Lindberg win her first major two weeks ago now, it was actually a lot of motivation and it really inspired me", Henderson described. Lindberg, victor of this month's ANA Inspiration, shot a 73, leaving her four off the front.

But Henderson's round came unstuck with a double-bogey on the par-three 16th, followed by a bogey on 18 to turn what had looked like being a solid two-under score into a one-over 73.

One who won't be thrilled is Queenslander Sarah Jane Smith who made four late bogeys in her second round to drop from even par to four over, agonisingly on the wrong side of the cut mark.

Henderson carded a steady, 3-under-par 69 in the final round at Ko Olina Golf Club on Oahu to wind up at 12-under 276, four shots better than Azahara Munoz. She finished the tournament 12 under par.

Henderson and fellow Canadians Alena Sharp, Anne-Catherine Tanguay, Brittany Marchand and Maude-Aimee Leblanc wore green and gold ribbons in memory of those killed in the Saskatchewan bus crash involving the Humboldt Broncos junior hockey team.

Thailand's Ariya Jutanugarn, South Korea's Inbee Park and China's Shanshan Feng, the world's top-ranked player, tied for third place at 7 under. "Kind of from four putts to one putt, that was a great feeling just to increase my lead a little bit more". "I know it kind of affected my whole country. I kind of got into more trouble, so I went back to my aggressive ways".

Michelle Wie finished tied for 11th after shooting 1-under 71 on Saturday.

She might not be able to catch the top of the pack by Saturday's end, but Wie is now tied for 18th heading into tomorrow's final round. Lindberg shot 68 and Park had a 69. She played the first 11 holes Saturday in 2 under to carve out a three-shot advantage, then faltered again.
