Most of the announcements were somewhat predictable (in the previous article I accurately predicted two announcements and was somewhat close to another), but the real surprise is that we got anything at all.

This year was different, however, and there was something for everyone.

Meant as the SEGA version of Nintendo's NES and SNES Classic, the SEGA MegaDrive Mini will go on sale this year, though there wasn't any more details as to what games will be on the console other than possibly a way of asking the audience what they want.

The upcoming Sega Mega Drive Collection has a May 29 release date on PS4, Xbox One and PC. Both games will feature Japanese AND English voiceovers as well as options for modern vs. classic controls and a fully scalable screen resolution.

SEGA has, so far, only chosen to announce three games that will come to the collection, which are Phantasy Star, Sonic the Hedgehog, and Thunder Force IV. If the renowned video-game developer includes some of the best titles from their library with the micro-console, then it will nearly be a must-have item for gamers who miss the days of foiling Doctor Eggman or indulging in a few hours of Double Dragon. It seems likely we'll see similar fare here, though that hasn't stopped me from maniacally daydreaming of seeing Skies of Arcadia show up on the Switch in this fashion (it absolutely won't).

As for this entry, all we know is that it will be set in Taisho era 1929.
