Houthis fire ballistic missiles at Saudi capital and oil sites

Aramco in a statement Wednesday said, "Saudi Aramco operations and facilities, including our facilities in Jizan, are operating normally and safely".

The attacks mark the fourth time in five months that missiles have flown over Riyadh, as the Houthis step up efforts to demonstrate they can reach the Saudi capital.

Saudi officials said flights were temporarily suspended at Abha airport in line with safety procedures.

Last month, the war took its first casualty in Riyadh after a man was killed by debris from a barrage of incoming missiles shot down by the Saudis over the capital. That same year in June, 17 Sudanese soldiers were killed and dozens more wounded at Midi of Hajjah province, in north-west Yemen.

Saudi Arabia's air defenses on Wednesday "intercepted" a ballistic missile fired from rebel-held Yemen at Riyadh, a military spokesman said, adding two others were shot down in southern Saudi Arabia.

Al-Arabiya quoted al-Malki as describing the drone over Abha airport as a "hostile Houthi aircraft with Iranian characteristics".
