Chevrolet Camaro Will Come With Smaller Price Tag?

Chevrolet Camaro Will Come With Smaller Price Tag?

"Lauded since its introduction for its balance of driving fun, refinement and value, the restyled 2019 Camaro reaches even higher with more of the design, technology and choices that customers want", Steve Majoros, a marketing director with Chevrolet said in a news release. But aside from the looks, Chevrolet has made some pretty big updates to the underpinnings of the cars.

Coming to the new Turbo 1LE model, it is a track ready vehicle and features a new 2.0-litre turbocharged engine making 275 bhp and 400 Nm of peak torque. It also comes with the standard (and only option) six-speed manual transmission. It develops 275 hp (205 kW) and 295 lb-ft of torque (400 Nm). As before, turbocharged four-cylinder and V6 models are also available, whilst the madhouse 641bhp Camaro ZL1 remains unchanged. According to Chevrolet, they are "a more sculptured evolution of Chevrolet's signature dual-element design".

The SS also gets new LED headlights and a vented "extractor-style" hood. "Along with specific 20" wheels, it will make the Camaro RS package a must-have. Chunkier tires also help with grip, specifically a set of P245/40R20 front and P275/35R20 rear Goodyears that prevent that 1LE from kicking out too dramatically in the corners.

Chevrolet adds mix of styling, performance enhancements.

Chevrolet has applied a similar variety of choice to its popular micro-car, the Spark, which for 2019 will add more exterior colour options - including purple, fuchsia, orange and red - in a move created to attract more female buyers.

All models feature a new rear fascia design as well.

Check out the new, more sculpted Chevrolet LED taillamps - with red lenses on LS and LT, and dark-tinted neutral-density lenses on the RS, SS, and ZL1. The new Cruze flaunts remote start, automatic climate control, new wheel designs and black window moldings along. No changes are mentioned for the engine, which means the 6.2-litre naturally aspirated "LT1" V8 producing 339kW continues as is. Other Camaros stick with an 8-speed automatic and a 6-speed manual is standard across the range.

Chevy's Driver Mode Selector now has a new Track Mode alongside the Sport Mode; its Competition Mode (within Sport and Track Modes) includes performance instrument readouts, launch control, shift lights and more. The near-50/50 front-to-rear weight balance also foreshadows that it will be a nimble and fun auto, regardless.

The makeover also features bolder exterior colours, including a new shade, Riverside Blue, on the Camaro SS coupe, which was actually more eye-catching than the satin steel shade on the RS presented on stage.

What's the benefit of a rear camera mirror vs regular mirror?

All buyers will receive OnStar 4G LTE with WiFi hotspot support with a three-month, 3GB data trial included. Wireless charging and a head-up display are options.

In short, the 2019 Camaro is smarter, slicker and more track-ready than ever. All of them go on sale later this year.
