An unspecified portion of the proceeds from sales of the crimson iPhone 8s will benefit (PRODUCT) RED, the HIV/AIDS charity founded by U2 frontman Bono with help from several corporate giants including Apple. The general assumption is that the stainless steel Apple uses for the frame of the iPhone X is trickier to apply different colors to than the aluminum of the iPhone 8 and other models.

The white front panel of the (PRODUCT) RED iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus was something that many weren't a fan of. Since 2006, Apple has donated $160 million to the Global Fund through limited edition iPods, iPhones and accessories. The survey also found that the Apple Watch is also becoming more popular amongst teens, where a year ago it was ranked third place amongst upper income teens, and in the latest survey it ranked second place. Apple also offers a wide range of RED products including smart battery cases, silicone cases, leather cases, Apple Watch, Beats headphones, iPod Touch, and smart cover for iPad.
