Aspiring Telugu actress strips in public, protests against casting couch

As announced Yesterday, the controversial actress Sri Reddy have gone for half nude protest in public, opposite the film chamber office located in Hyderabad. This extreme act was to express her grief against the prevalent discrimination going on in the Tollywood industry. She also alleged that she was demanded nudes by several film personalities if she wants a role which she did.

She also demanded the formation of a Movie Artists Association exclusively for women, "There is no grievance redressal committee in the present association". In March, she participated in a popular vernacular TV channel debate and said 90 percent of actresses in Tollywood would be asked to appear nude in video calls.

The Jubilee Hills police after coming to know about the protest rushed to the spot and took her into custody. We assured her that we would take action if she gives us specific complaint. "I have done three films", she was quoted by News18.

Earlier, Reddy had made sensational allegations on social media, of sexual exploitation, against some of the top Tollywood producers, directors and actors.

Reddy, who staged the protest on Saturday morning outside the office of Telugu Film Chamber, said that she was asked to send inappropriate pictures and videos to get a chance in Telugu films, and threatened to expose names of people who "exploit young, aspiring actors".
