Madhuri Dixit replaces Sridevi in Abhishek Varman's film, confirms Janhvi Kapoor

Late Actresss Sridevi was all set to be a part of Karan Johar's upcoming production being helmed by Abhishek Verman. On the other hand Janhvi, who is now shooting for her upcoming debut Dhadak, will be shooting for her first photo shoot with Vogue on March 20, 2018.

"Shiddat" is a joint project by big brands such as Fox Star Studios and Dharma productions of Karan Johar.

Sridevi's sudden demise came as a shock to fans worldwide whom have been waiting to see the legendary actress performing in yet another Bollywood film. Sridevi's daughter Janhvi Kapoor made the announcement on her Instagram page with a picture of the two actresses'.

The film is also rumoured to have Sanjay Dutt and Sonakshi Sinha make guest appearances.

A close friend revealed, "Although Janhvi's first magazine cover shoot with her mother was for People magazine, she was really looking forward to this Vogue cover as this would mark her foray into films".

Janhvi shared a photo of Sridevi and Madhuri with the caption, "Abhishek Varman's next film was very close to mom's heart..." Post Sridevi's death, there were speculations on who will replace Sridevi's role in Shiddat.

Madhuri was always deemed as Sridevi's heir apparent in the Hindi film industry as the next female superstar after the former ruled the industry for more than a decade. Sridevi was operating on her second innings which started in 2012 with the brilliant "English Vinglish" and her last film was "Mom" in 2017.
