March Madness: Canada's Brissett leads Syracuse past ASU in First Four action

The Sun Devils will face off with the Syracuse Orange tonight, just over 72 hours after finding out when and where the game would be.

Kodi Justice led Arizona State with 15 points.

Arizona State has the potential to light up the scoreboard just about any time out, led by a trio of senior guards who together are averaging nearly 48 points per game.

But Syracuse scored the game's next five points to reclaim a lead that they would not let slip away. All that matters now is surviving and advancing and the Sun Devils have a great opportunity on their hands against a very beatable Syracuse squad.

Damontrae Jefferson did a lot of everything Wednesday night, hitting layups and 3-pointers, grabbing rebounds, playing defense and making his teammates look good. He limped on his right leg as he headed to the bench to get checked out during a timeout, then went back in the game and missed both free throws.

On the season, Arizona State basketball averarages 83.5 points, 35.2 rebounds and 14.2 assists per game. The Orange will play sixth-seeded TCU on Friday.

ASU comes into Wednesday's game with the country's 14th ranked scoring offense, averaging over 80 points per game this season.

Ayton's coming up in a generation defined by historic 3-point shooting, as well as 7-footers - players who would have played on the block three decades ago - now emulating wings.
