Trump Expected to Fire Another Cabinet Secretary

White House correspondent Kaitlan Collins reports that the cabinet shakeup was discussed by Trump and Perry at lunch yesterday. Trump has been telling associates he doesn't know what's happened at the VA, but he doesn't like what he's hearing and he may have to fire Shulkin if the situation further deteriorates... Shulkin pulled a similar move last week, meeting with Kelly and subsequently calling up The New York Times to declare victory.

And Mr. Trump has publicly showered Dr. Shulkin with praise.

David Shulkin, the veterans affairs secretary, has been investigated by his department's inspector general, which last month said he improperly accepted tickets to the Wimbledon tennis tournament last summer during a government trip to Europe.

Shulkin has been struggling with political appointees at his department, some of whom allegedly oppose his policies and are seeking his ouster. Shulkin then told Politico that he had the green light from the White House to crack down on "subversion", adding that those who had defied him "won't be working in my operation. those who crossed the line in the past are going to have to be accountable for those decisions", he added. "Unfortunately, Secretary Shulkin, by his conduct, lacks the moral authority to achieve you goals of a transparent, accountable VA that is dedicated to meeting our nation's obligations to the men and women who wore the uniform and made tremendous sacrifices in defense of our freedoms". But the people said the president has grown impatient with the department's current secretary, David Shulkin, and may want to replace him with someone already in his cabinet. Axios recently reported the President has been growing frustrated with him. The secretary maintains the support of top Democrats and Republicans on Capitol Hill.
