Marcus Rashford: Jose Mourinho's Man Utd training is where I'm learning most

Rashford was the star of the show in the Red Devils' blockbuster encounter with bitter rivals Liverpool, finding the back of the net with two magnificent finishes - the first of which has drawn several comparisons to Cristiano Ronaldo. He's a player, he's very young, he needs games, but he's so talented.

Mourinho praised his player in the post-match press conference and admitted that the academy product had previously suffered with confidence issues.

"I read some quote from the worst manager in the history of the Premier League, Frank de Boer - seven matches, seven defeats, zero goals", said Mourinho, alluding to De Boer's unsuccessful spell in charge of Crystal Palace earlier this season.

Rashford scored twice in his first Premier League start of 2018 as United edged out Liverpool 2-1 on Saturday, but Mourinho still substituted the 21-year-old England forward 20 minutes from time as he looked to make the game safe.

Jose Mourinho had a off-the-cuff pop at Frank de Boer after the latter criticised the former's handling of Marcus Rashford's professional progression. I would say he was in the top five with more matches for two seasons.

"If he was coached by Frank, he would learn how to lose because he lost every game."

Rashford is set to feature in England's squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russian Federation and might be granted a more prominent role than expected as Gareth Southgate waits to find out the severity of the ankle injury Harry Kane suffered during Tottenham's 4-1 win over Bournemouth on Monday (AEDT). "We are going to try to show we are better but I don't feel we have any advantage". "In the last eight you start smelling the semi-finals". "I've been training hard and we'll see what happens".

"But if you go to his numbers and how many games he played with me". He plays for United many matches, he starts some comes from the bench for others. "Analysing a performance for me is more than number of goals or assists, and for me I'm really happy with Marcus". Of course not but he is a player that we trust.

Rashford could retain his place when United take on Sevilla at Old Trafford with the tie poised at 0-0.
