Trump Peeved at Sarah Sanders for Stormy Daniels Comments

Amid ongoing tensions over the issue of immigration, White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders expressed optimism about President Donald Trump's trip to Southern California next week. "This case has already been won in arbitration".

In the suit, Daniels claimed she had an affair with Trump in 2006 and 2007.

Daniels' lawyer Michael Avenatti told MSNBC's Lawrence O'Donnell on Wednesday night that Sanders' insistence the matter was settled isn't accurate.

When asked by Smerconish if anyone 'offered to pony up the million dollars to protect her, ' Avenatti said: 'At least 10 individuals in the last three days alone'.

The first, dated October 26, 2016, was sent to Cohen's Trump Organization email address by Elizabeth Rappaport, assistant to Gary Farro, senior managing director at First Republic Bank.

The confidentiality agreement, included as an exhibit in the lawsuit, specifies arbitration to resolve disputes, and the lawsuit said Cohen began "a bogus arbitration proceeding" against Daniels on February 27. The details of the proceedings are usually kept confidential.

But with the lawsuit - and a slew of recent media interviews - Daniels' team appears undeterred by Cohen's legal maneuvers.

He also did not rule out the possibility that the ex-porn star would try to sell her story if she prevailed in court. She also has said they continued to have a years-long friendship afterward. "She's looking to disclose the truth about what happened", Avenatti said.

And while it's not clear that she'll prevail in that legal fight, it is clear that her appearance in the news has been good for her marketability.

On Thursday, a nonprofit watchdog group has asked the Justice Department and the Office of Government Ethics to investigate whether the secret payment to Daniels, which Cohen says came from his own pocket and was made without Trump's knowledge, may have violated federal law because Trump did not list it on his financial disclosure forms. "So that's been really great", she said.
