Lenovo S5 teased ahead of its official launch on March 20

Xiaomi, for example, launched its latest budget segment phones Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus in China, but in India, it has launched the latter as the Redmi Note 5. The e-commerce giant has put up a casual survey hinting towards what can be expected from the new Xiaomi smartphone.

The price of 2GB RAM and 16GB storage variant of Redmi 5 is CNY 799 which is approximately equal to Rs.7800. A few days ago, we have reported about the launch date of this new S5 smartphone from the company which is on the coming March 20.

Amazon India is also teasing the smartphone with the number 5, which further suggests that this could be the Redmi 5.

The phone was launched in China last December and is the only new device from Xiaomi that is yet to make it to the Indian market. It will also be available in 16GB/32GB storage variants. The 3GB RAM variant is priced at CNY 899 (roughly Rs 9,000) and the 4GB RAM variant is priced at CNY 1299 (Roughly Rs 13,200).

The device comes with a 5.7-inch screen with an HD+ resolution.

A 64-bit 1.5GHz Amlogic L962-H8X processor with 750MHz Mali 450 GPU with a gig of RAM on the top, the TV comes with 8 gigs of internal storage just at 1,699 yuan (roughly Rs 17,500).

From the teaser messages on social media and the phone being described as a "Compact Powerhouse" by Xiaomi, one is expecting that the phone to be released on March 14 will be the Redmi 5 and it may sport a powerful battery. The phone sports a 5-inch (720x1280 pixels) display.

Most Chinese smartphone brands follow different policies for their home market and for markets like India. The Mi TV 4 is the company's flagship product which is selling at an aggressive price of Rs 39,999 for the 55-inch variant.
