Air Canada system outage leading to long delays at Vancouver Airport

According to reports from multiple airports, including Toronto and Calgary, Air Canada is now experiencing a network outage nationwide with its computer system across the country.

Michael Badejo, spokesperson with the Winnipeg Airports Authority, said four flights have been delayed, affecting about 200 people.

Air Canada is Canada's largest domestic and worldwide airline serving more than 200 airports on six continents.

The airline has not immediately replied to a request for comment from CBC News.

For customers who wish to change their travel plans, Air Canada has put in place a flexible rebooking policy to enable customers to change their flights without change fees on a space available basis.

"There's no communication. Everybody just says they don't know what's going on", she tells us.

"We're now experiencing an interruption at our customer Contact Centres and".

The airline tweeted that it was "experiencing an interruption" at its contact centres and website and is working to restore service as soon as possible. "Thank you for your patience", reads a tweet from the airline.

People were also unable to book flights at this time.
