Musicians can now post messages directly to their Google Search Featured Panels

In what could damage Twitter's popularity, Google is now allowing U.S. musicians to post updates directly to its Search result pages.

The feature is live today for any musicians whose search result includes a Knowledge Panel already. Now there's a new section where they will be able to post information, in a sort of Tweet-like formula.

An update to Google's search results allows musicians to instantly publish short updates to the front page of search results.

Google says these posts will appear in the artists Knowledge panel that come right before the actual search results. Musicians can also get the "Blue Tick" that would verify that the posts are truly from the artist. This is a great way to reach Google Search users who may not follow the artist or probably doesnt use social media. There, you can find images, videos, GIFs and text posted directly by the artist you're searching for. If you meet the criteria (it's pretty easy to check; just Google yourself), you can sign up to be verified and start posting over at the Posts on Google website.
