It's Mario time on Google Maps!

Google Maps has been home to game-themed Easter eggs in the past, and that will be the case again for the next week.

To help celebrate March 10 (MAR10), or Mario Day, Google Maps is teaming up with Nintendo to bring the kart-racing plumber into the app to help you get from one place to another, all while avoiding digital bananas.

To action this, you need to tap the little yellow question mark button - a familiar mystery box icon to anyone who's played Mario-related games through the years - at the bottom of the Google Maps app.

Once your app is updated to the latest version, the feature will appear when you search for directions. The feature will be live for the entire week in honor of Mario Day on March 10.

You will, however, have to consider your mobile data plan as Super Mario Run is a game that requires a constant internet connection to work. Google Maps users will be able to navigate through their day, not as just a simple dot on the map, but as Nintendo's own Mario driving along in his famous go-kart, as Google details on its blog.

On Friday, Google Maps cryptically tweeted a screencap of a "street view" from Venice, California.
