Klopp: Salah deserves to be Player of the Season

The Reds will take on their Portuguese opponents at Anfield with a 5-0 advantage following their emphatic win in the first leg of their last-16 tie.

A fourth win in their last five league games took Jurgen Klopp's side one point above Manchester United, who drop to third but can regain second spot with a win at Crystal Palace on Monday.

Liverpool are going through a tremendous run of form lately in the English Premier League as they have won back to back games against Southampton, West Ham United and Newcastle United.

With such a commanding lead over Porto, Klopp could be forgiven for heavily rotating his team on Tuesday night as Saturday's huge clash with bitter rivals Manchester United looms large on the horizon.

"When Jurgen signed him he has said to him, 'I don't want you stuck out wide on the wings creating for other people, I want you to be the main man".

"We will meet the boys a little bit later and we'll give them as long as possible between these two games until they have to show up to recover, and then we will fix all the things". They are coming back but it will be too early for both of them.

"If you watch Barcelona, they give Lionel Messi the ball in specific moments".

Antonio Conte is widely rumoured to be on his way out as Chelsea manager at the end of the season come what may in the Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup.

Added Klopp: "Look, if he was not a good goalkeeper, I would be the biggest idiot in world football if I line him up".

"Rotating in the way you think about it, probably not sure", he said, when asked whether he had considered making major changes.

Attack: Klopp refused to confirm whether he'd rest any of his big guns in attack but I think he'd be insane not to rest at least two of his front three.

Jurgen Klopp has admitted his delight with how Mohamed Salah has been performing for Liverpool FC this season since his move to Anfield in the summer transfer window past year.

Not for the first time in recent weeks, Conte chose not to start a recognised centre-forward.

FC Porto have been very impressive domestically this season as the Dragons sit top of the Primeira League by five points after beating Sporting Lisbon 2-1 on Friday. They are also the top scorers in this season's Champions League (28 goals), including 25 in last five games.

There should be chances afforded to the likes of Adam Lallana, Dominic Solanke and Ragnar Klavan.
