Arsenal slammed by Brighton midfielder Sidwell: No fight, no passion

Arsenal slammed by Brighton midfielder Sidwell: No fight, no passion

Wenger recently celebrated 21 years as the Gunners' manager and broke Sir Alex Ferguson's record for the most Premier League matches in charge, setting the new highest total at 819. "My worry is to get Arsenal to win football games, and then we see where we go from there. I think it has already gone before this but mathematically with five teams in front of us, we need two teams to collapse not one".

The Gunners are 13 points behind north London rivals Tottenham in fourth place and unless they win the Europa League, it seems impossible that Arsenal can qualify for the Champions League for the second year in a row. The Gunners have been in very poor form and have shown no signs of what Arsenal are known for in the last few months.

The results leave Wenger fighting to salvage his job, as well as his legacy, and Koscielny has issued a war cry to the Arsenal players and supporters. "You deserve better. That's all I have to say", he wrote on Twitter.

Winners, when they get you on the floor, they get you on the floor and they make you suffer. "What I am saying to you is again, we are talking about hypothetical thoughts".

Wenger blamed his side's miserable first-half display on a loss of confidence off the back of a dispiriting week, in which they lost the EFL Cup final to City before a league defeat to the leaders by the same scoreline.

Henry won two league titles and three FA Cups and claimed the Golden Boot on four occasions under Wenger, and is adamant that the Frenchman must decide whether or not the time is right for him to walk away.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang replied for Arsenal just before halftime.

Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford has not started a Premier League game since 26 December but Old Trafford boss Jose Mourinho says if England manager Gareth Southgate "trusts him, he selects him".

Aaron Ramsey has been linked with a summer move away from Arsenal, but Arsene Wenger insists that is not why he was left out against Brighton.

Speaking on Sky Sports, Henry admitted he wouldn't shirk the challenge if the opportunity presented itself, but he will never lobby for Wenger to be sacked.

Arsenal remain sixth in the Premier League standings and are closer to seventh place Burnley than they are to fifth place Chelsea.
