Janelle Monáe Releases Trailer for 'Dirty Computer'

Janelle Monáe returns to the spotlight in Dirty Computer, an "emotion picture" defined as a new album and accompanying film.

The 32-year-old has not released a new album in five years.

The "Tightrope" singer and actress is following up her Electric Lady album with the work, which will be her third studio album.

Although Monae is not a cast member of "Black Panther", she's been making moves and captivating us with her acting skills by starring in "Hidden Figures" and "Moonlight" - two very high-profile films. Now, she is working on The Women of Marwen with Steve Carell and Leslie Mann. Monae tells the L.A. Times the synopsis of the trailer is that "they drained us of our dirt and all the things that made us special". There's no word on a release date as of yet. Over the past years, Kesha has been embroiled in a legal battle against Dr. Luke who, she said, raped her. "We are also daughters, wives, mothers, sisters, and human beings". We come in peace, but we mean business. "We say Time's Up for pay inequality, discrimination or harassment of any kind, and the abuse of power". "It's right here in our industry, as well".

The "Dirty Computer" trailer will air before screenings of the new Marvel movie Black Panther in the USA this weekend.
