Chelsea boss Antonio Conte: 'Players needed three-day break'

Luis Enrique may have been relentlessly linked with the Chelsea manager's job over the last couple of weeks, but new reports have surfaced which claim the former Barcelona boss could in fact end up at a different Premier League destination, this summer.

"Morata won't be ready but Giroud is training with us and will be in contention", Conte revealed during his pre-match conference ahead of next Monday's clash. "Christensen didn't train with us today but honestly, I hope to count on him against West Brom because he's an important player for us".

"If you ask if me he needs one month, one day, two months, the rest of the season, I don't know".

Cahill concedes it was one of his worst displays for the club but says Chelsea have shown in the past that there is no reason to panic after two bad results.

"Players like Morata, for us that are very important, have been missing for a long time", Conte added.

'We struggle to find the solution and to solve the pain in his back. "I could say a month, a week or the season - I don't know how long he will be out, and for this reason I'm a bit anxious".

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte says he is totally committed to the club but has called for improvement after a "totally negative" result at Watford. In this case, we are having poor results.

He also defended his decision to hand his players and backroom staff there days off after their defeat to Watford, citing congested fixtures.

"We are playing in the FA Cup and two games against Norwich, then Champions League and the league". Bournemouth scored three goals in 15 while Watford scored three goals in just 8 minutes, though for Conte, the latter was far more concerning due to the team's attitude. "Watford was a bad game for us, it can happen, but we must make sure it only happens once". Antonio Conte is under serious pressure and Enrique is understood to be keen on managing in the Premier League next. You know that a lot of times the manager or coach depends on results.
