Next-generation Jeep Wrangler unveiled

For many years Jeep, the rugged marque in the Fiat Chrysler Automobiles portfolio, worked to distance itself-extend beyond is perhaps a better way to put it-its iconic Wrangler.

The reveal of the new Wrangler coincides with this year's Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show in Las Vegas and saw Mopar tease its new range of products for the Wrangler. In a surprise reveal Tuesday night, Wrangler lovers have to guess no more.

Jeep will use this month's LA Auto Show to official debut this new-generation of the Jeep Wrangler.

The Dodge Ram was a finalist in the Hottest Truck category as was the Dodge Charger. Some of the things available will be (200 in total) lifts kits, beadlock-capable wheels, off-road bumpers, LED off-road lights and rock rails. And speaking of tires, Mopar's cover for the tailgate-mounted spare has a portal for the Wrangler's backup camera. Drivers control them through a new bank of auxiliary switches in the Wrangler - a tidbit that all but confirms one of the leaked details.

While as you can see, Jeep has resisted the urge to mess to much with the tried and true Wrangler styling...

A first-time offering-a foldable tailgate table to create utility space and more storage. Owners can also get mesh or solid bikini tops to lend ultraviolet protection when the removable hardtop is off, while screen protectors can block debris from the Wrangler's 7- or 8.4-inch dashboard displays.
