Sony Xperia XZ1 to launch in India today

Sony's flagship phone for 2017, the Sony Xperia XZ1 will be launched in India today.

While Sony's rivals Apple, LG, and Samsung have done away with bezels in their smartphone designs, it is interesting to note that the Xperia XZ1 still has thick bezels both above and below the display.

Coming back the Xperia XZ1, the launch event will take place in New Delhi and the price of the smartphone could be Rs. 51,990 or a smaller price tag would be appreciated from the company. With the Xperia Z1 and Xperia XA1 Plus already being introduced for the Indian market, we can expect Sony to soon launch the Xperia Z1 Compact in the country.

The smartphone features top-notch hardware in the form of Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of internal storage. The device features a MotionEye 19-megapixel Exmor RS sensor camera which can 3D scan.

The latest version of Android 8.0 Oreo helps to use this smartphone in a great manner.

Other than that, the device features a 5-axis stabilisation which enables slow-motion video recording at 960fps.

The Sony Xperia XZ1 features a "flagship loop surface" with a metal unibody. This camera is also powered by Sony's own Exmor RS mobile imaging sensor. Users can also install microSD cards of up to 265GB for additional storage. As for the camera on the front side, the handset boats of a 13 mega pixel sensing element together with a 22mm broad angle lens and a regulator of f/2.0 lens. For connectivity, the XZ1 has 4G with VoLTE, dual-band WiFi ac, Bluetooth 5.0 and NFC. The phone is backed by a 2,700mAh battery with Qnovo Adaptive charging and Quick Charge 3.0 support. The device comes with IP68 certification as well.Another major highlight of the Xperia XZ1 is the camera. For sound, the company has added high-resolution audio, DSEE HX, digital noise cancelling, clear audio+, stereo speaker, and Qualcomm aptX HD audio. This is a big deal as most of the flagship smartphones released this year in India are still stuck on Android Nougat with many promising upgrades to Android Oreo. The Xperia XZ1 will be available in Moonlit Blue, Venus Pink, Warm Silver, and Black colours.
